Detailed 1/48 scale assembly model kit of the Mitsubishi G4M or "Isshikirikko", a World War II Japanese twin-engine medium attack bomber. Codenamed "Betty" by the Allies, the Mitsubishi G4M was widely used by the Imperial Japanese Navy as a long-range land-based attack bomber. The "Betty" had good speed and range, but like most Japanese aircrafts of the era, the type lacks survivability. The absence of self-sealing fuel tanks made the Mitsubishi G4M extremely vulnerable to enemy fire, prompting the Japanese pilots to nickname it "Type 1 Lighter". The most notable Mitsubishi G4M bomber during the Second World War was G4M tail number "T1-323", which was carrying Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto reroute to Ballale Airfield near Bougainville in the Solomon Islands when it was attacked and shot down by U.S. P-38 Lightning fighters (April 18, 1943). This 1/48 scale model kit depicts the G4M1 Model 11, Japanese Navy Land Attack Bomber Type 1. This kit features: Detailed cockpit and interior. Detailed engines with optional open or closed cowl flaps. Rotating propellers. Separate flaps can be constructed in up or down position. Parts to construct 3 crew figures included. Decals with 6 sets of markings.
