While I have been an avid wargamer for many years, this is the first time I bought a model purely for aesthetic/decorative reasons. With that said I was quite suprised at the quality of the model compared to my wargaming ones. It is very sturdy yet flexible enough to withstand a fair degree of manhandling while setting a pose.

The colouring and markings are also accurate and replicate the depiction of the Shiranui in the Muv-Luv visual novels. The only thing missing I would say is a unit marking on the left shoulder block, but as this is just a generic UN Armed Forces Shiranui that is to be expected.

Now the downsides, luckily there are only a couple. First off is the rifle pylon supplied with the model. While the sword mount holds the weapon firmly, the rifle takes a bit of a balancing act to stay in place. The slightest tap will cause it to fall out. The second is the shoulder/elbow and ankle joints. While the allow a wide range of movement away from the model, if you try and move them towards the model (e.g. trying to create a sword pose with the right arm across the chest) you will discover that the range of movement is limited compared to moving it outwards.

All in all a very nice model with only a couple of minor problems letting it down.
