Fujimi Mokei is setting the trends: licensed race cars kits & half exposed engines. The actual 6-speed 493 bhp MP4-12C GT3 race car was in 2013 SUPER GT in the GT300 class.

The kit was competently engineered. Japanese & English instructions. English color chart. The last color #92 is semi glossy black. Parts molded in clear, white & black. Quality waterslide decals. Photo etched parts. No cloth seatbelts. Metal antennas. Turning front wheels.

The hardest part was the photo etched parts that came with separate instructions which must be cut away & painted matte black & red first. Holes must be cut out of the bodywork: 3 front grills, top-rear engine grill & 1 rear grill. Use hand drills, side cutter, hobby knife & sand papers. Prepare (sand, wash & dry) & paint (prime grey/black, paint metallic purple & seal with glossy clear) the bodywork. Finally, use plastic glue to bond PE parts. No 5-point seatbelt cloths. I ordered them separately.

The simple interior is mostly satin black. Grey dash. Silver, glossy & matte black engine. I did metallic black rims (wheels), flat black tire sides & sanded tires. I don't like the bundled rub-on tire stickers.

You can get away with a glossy purple & black spray paints + some hobby tools. The kit is really aimed at experienced builders.
