I was worried that when I ordered this, there was a possibility that I'd get a bootleg, since this may be one of the most bootlegged figures in history and they've gotten smart to try and dupe customers. Needless to say, Plamoya came through with a GENUINE Max Factory Blue Version Kasumi, NEW in box as well!

Being 7 years old since her initial release, she can be incredibly difficult to find for a good price and for a genuine piece. The sculpt is absolutely amazing, the paint applied evenly with only very few minor blemishes one can expect. No figure-maker has ever gotten Kasumi's face done right, but Max Factory's is at least adorable if not accurate. She has big and innocent eyes peeking through her bangs.

Being very top heavy as she is, I've read that MF's Kasumi is prone to leaning. Thankfully mine came out sturdy and with no lean. Also, she is BIG. If she were standing up she'd at least up to 35-40cm tall. I needed a bigger shelf to fit her!

If you're interested in picking this one up, here are some signs to look for when buying (at least the Blue version) MF Kasumi. The dangling tassels on her sword should be different heights, one high, one low. You might get one that isn't as dramatic as the one in the stock photo shown, but as long as they aren't touching each other it's a good sign. The split in the hair was an old way of telling if it were a bootleg, but the bootleg guys have had that fixed for a while now. The tips of her hair should be sharp. The base should be 5mm deep and a cream-tan color with the blue version. The bottom of the base should also have a center nub and the screws should be surrounded by plastic and connected with a nub in the center of this connection. There are plenty of websites one can find images with comparisons of the real thing and the fake.

Overall, I adore Kasumi as a character, and this figure is incredibly well-known. Plamoya offers a genuine Max Factory product and it was well worth the price for the quality.
